I loved my stay at G Mekong. The staff were incredibly helpful – Bong Det gave me great recommendations for live boxing matches, arranged multiple airport pickups (with printed signs), and Mr. Phearom was very responsive to my comments about the room. He quickly resolved an issue I had with a light that wouldn’t turn off and gave great restaurant recommendations in the area. All of the staff were friendly and proactive.
Both the hotel and the room had modern decorations and some more traditional Khmer fishing-themed decor that worked nicely together. They have a well-equipped gym and a pool on the roof. The pool area has a sky bar that is really nice in the evenings. There were a few well-lit conference tables on the ground floor that were perfect for small meetings.
The location of the hotel is perfect for business travelers. It’s in the center of the city and a quick walk or tuk tuk ride away from most ministries and commercial centers. There are lots of amazing Chinese restaurants in this area, as well as Oreussey Market, which is very local and has just about anything you could imagine should you take the time to walk around it (loads of great local food options too). The area is safe, unlike my experiences at some places near the more touristy Riverfront area.
I plan on staying in this hotel whenever I’m in Phnom Penh. Thanks!
